Only 3km from Turiquintas you find Porches, known for its variety of handicraft pieces which show up the characteristics of the Arab influence. In the boundary zone of this village there are pottery shops that sell varied pieces. The most known ones are on ceramics, the tiles painted by hand, miniatures of typical Algarvian chariots and fishing boats and the Algarvian chimneys.

In some of these already internationally acknowledged pottery stores you can appreciate the work of painting on clay by the professionals personally. They have been devoted to this Art for many years.

You can't forget to go to Silves (interior Baroque), known as the last refuge of the Arab people before the conquest of Algarve by the King Afonso III in the XIII century, and see some relics of the Roman and Arab civilizations in the museum, like the only water reservoir existing in the West.
